Ki-Aikido training Will Stoelman on December 8, 2001, "Ki-Aikido and meditation."

The emergence on the stage of 8 December was very good, I've spoken to people of the dojo from Waalwijk, Rotterdam, Ridderkerk and even from Meppel. There were many members of our own dojo and that always makes me good.

Ki-Aikido and meditation, the subject that Will this internship has dealt describes an important part of practicing Ki-Aikido. A meditative state of mind and body allows the martial arts to elevate to art movement. The principle of fighting with the other falls away, it is more a state of openness to the other so that together you can create a movement of your own leads. It also creates a meditative state space, which you can adapt to the direction of the attacker off balance without touching. During move from a meditative state easily keep your balance, move over and keep an eye on what you do.

From the previous shows that meditation affects the body and mind. Because your body to (learn to) relax, you can move free of tension, so every position that can physically attack you ask effortlessly and easily adopted. Using a relaxed mind it is easy to first signs of an attack and respond during the entire execution of a technique to stay calm move. It also cultivates the move with a relaxed body and mind the emergence of rhythm and dynamics. In short, a meditative posture, the energy used in Ki-Aikido is created between two people Fri flowing, free of blockages, free from collision. Moving with preservation of the Ki principles (Keep One Point Ki and extend its principles to the mind, relax completely and weight at the bottom to keep his principles for the body) is moving in meditation. The form will adapt the content remains the same.

Will began the first day part of the internship with an explanation of meditation. This showed that each one his or her own interpretation to the concept of meditation. In addition to some theory, we have several exercises to assess the effect of meditation itself to experience and develop.

This wonderfully relaxed state in the second part we used to move, to make contact with another and finally to aikido techniques to carry out. During these exercises showed that maintaining a relaxed state of mind and body during a movement is something that requires much practice. The stage ended with the execution of the 13 th taigi.

Now I wonder how our members of the Ki-Aikido Club Alkmaar meditation experience. Therefore I ask everyone in this once quiet to think about meditation. What is meditation for you, how do you experience meditation, and what can you do with meditation, meditation is an abstract concept or practice meditation, you can make, etc. I would appreciate it if everyone his or her thoughts on paper and so In this One Point can be placed. I'm curious about your reactions.

      Sincerely,
      Martijn
